Envelopes FAQ
1. What file format should I submit for envelope printing?
Submit a high-resolution, print-ready PDF in CMYK color mode with embedded fonts. Make sure your design accounts for the envelope fold lines and glue areas.
2. Can envelopes be printed full bleed?
Full bleed printing on envelopes is possible when the envelope is printed flat before folding and gluing. This allows edge-to-edge color coverage on the outer panel.
3. What envelope sizes do you offer?
We offer standard sizes including #10 business envelopes, A2, A6, A7, 6×9, and 9×12 catalog envelopes, as well as custom sizes for unique projects.
4. What are the USPS size requirements for mailable envelopes?
All mail pieces 1/4 inch thick or less must be rectangular, at least 3.5 inches high, and at least 5 inches long to meet USPS mailing standards.
5. Can I get envelopes with a window?
Yes. Window envelopes are available with standard placement specifications. The window allows the recipient address to show through from the enclosed document.
6. What ink and paper considerations apply to envelopes?
Envelope paper is more porous than coated stocks like brochures or postcards, so ink absorption may vary. We use printing methods suited to the specific envelope material.
7. Can I personalize envelopes with variable data?
Yes. Variable data printing allows each envelope to be personalized with a different name, address, or message, ideal for direct mail campaigns.
8. What is the turnaround time for custom envelope printing?
Turnaround depends on quantity, envelope type, and any additional services such as mailing or variable data. Contact us for a timeline specific to your project.
9. Can you print my return address on envelopes?
Yes. We can print your return address, logo, and branding on the envelope flap or front panel as part of the design.
10. What is the minimum order quantity for custom envelopes?
Minimum quantities vary by envelope type. Contact us with your specifications and we will provide pricing and minimums for your order.
